The Referential Offset Transform is the offset of the tracking referential in the cube referential.

It can be used to:

– define a new origin in a better location

– share the same origin between multiple systems

– refine the tracking referential to be able to match perfectly a virtual object on the real world

For typical studio cameras with free camera moves, EZlineup is the perfect companion to achieve offsets processing.

HOW THE SOLUTION WORKS?

Take pictures of our MAGIC CUBE as this one has been previously positioned at the exact origin point of your studio.

Note: the optic has been profiled prior in using our EZprofile software for lens calibration.

EZlineup automatically detects the MAGIC CUBE’s exact position in space at identifying its tags in real-time: the positional information is sent back to the solver.

The various offset distances and camera transforms are processed into the solver, in just a matter of few seconds!

The offset information is now displayed into the  interface, ready to get copied.

The offset values being properly computed, these can now be reported into any of your Freed-compatible tracking device, such is EZtrack here!

Usually, user needs to measure these offsets manually in using a ruler. Not only this method takes time to complete, but it is also not accurate enough to obtain a precise lineup.

MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS

One tracking device outputting Freed protocol.

One camera with optic being fully calibrated with one lens profile being generated by EZprofile (learn more here).

One video flow that can be casted through a module such as the AJA U-TAP 3G-SDI USB 3.0 capture device or  a webcam emulator such as OBS Studio

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Can I use EZlineup with any tracking device?

Yes! As long as your tracking device does use and is compatible with the Freed protocol to transmit positional tracking data.

What will I need to operate the solution?

To operate EZlineup, you need one active software license, our calibration cube, one Win64 compatible PC or laptop, as well as one optic for which one proper lens profile has been edited with EZprofile.

Is it compatible with any camera?

Yes! EZprofile can be operated with basically any kind of camera and optic, whatever the model/brand and type of gear the camera is mounted on: tripod, dolly, crane, jib, etc.. The solution is also compatible with any Freed-compatible PTZ cameras.

Is it compatible with any 3D render engine?

Yes! The EZprofile offset values can be reported into any Freed-compatible 3D pipeline as long as the Pan/Tilt/Roll values can be set.
